Agricultural Engineering degree from the National University of Piura, with Masters level studies in Agribusiness at the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. He has done graduate work in Foreign Trade. He has worked as an external consultant with associations of small producers of organic bananas, on the subject of foreign trade advisory. He has also served as production manager in watermelon seed. He has experience in managing legume crops, cereals and tubers.
